getting rid of "Notification Area Icons" that are now N/A

how can I remove from the "Notification Area Icons" list those icons that no longer exist?

(in this case, it isn't an uninstalled program, but modules and download windows that were sent to the tray and now remain listed...as though they were programs themselves about which I might still want some notification, when in fact they are long gone and this footprint of them is not wanted).

Does an uninstall remove listed items?
might un/reinstalling the download manager be my best way to remove that source of this clutter?

Hello Lykho, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Resetting the Notification Area icons will be able to do this for you.

    Hope this helps,
