    remove desktop item in Windows explorer


    How can I remove the 'Desktop' list item in Windows Explorer?

    I have this on my laptop but I also want this on my PC at home.

    To remove desktop icons
    Right click on desktop
    Personalize
    Change desktop icons

    and this will remove the 'desktop' entry as the root in Windows Explorer ? hmmm...

    It will only remove the icons (of choice) on the desktop

What my plan is, is to remove Desktop from the Navigation Pane maybe using a Registry Hack but I think if it did, it would remove the others too since they expand from Desktop. I never use Desktop from Navigation Pane and just find it to be a nuisance to always have it collapsed and just remove it...
