Slimmer Taskbar? Also Auto Hide Questions.

I was wondering if there's a slimmer taskbar than the small-icons version?

Also, right now I'm using auto-hide taskbar but Winamp and Steam will cause it to stay up until I close them or open and minimise them. Is there a fix for this?

Don't know about a slimmer taskbar.

Are you talking about steam/winamp bottom right icons?

    If so you can try:

~right-click the taskbar- go to "Properties"

~under the Taskbar tab, click "Customize" in the "Notification area"

~change them to the desired setting

If you are talking about the weird new quick launch icons, I avoid them by making a toolbar. See:

Edit: Its worth noting that pressing the (Windows Key) can toggle the taskbar when auto-hide is on.

If you use the traditional taskbar tabs, it's slimmer:

I use it double stacked, and it still might be slimmer than the small icons version:

I've given up on it, I'm just turning autohide back off. I lose screen space but it's better than being frustrated about it.

Thanks Deliceuz but I already use the traditional tabs. Quicker access :)
