Windows 7 does not recognize the Monitor

Hello. I have an Insignia 32' LCD Monitor/TV. I connected it to my laptop via VGA. the problem is that Windows either doesnt find it or doesnt connect to it. The first monitor is "Generic PnP Monitor on SiS M760GX and the second monitor is "(Default Monitor) on SiS M760GX" What is the problem. Before it said Non Generic PnP until I downloaded the drivers for the graphics card. Why isnt my monitor being recognized?

Idk what it is because before I downloaded the SiS Drivers it would switch the display to the monitor. The only problem was that it didnt mirror the display and didnt give me the option of extending or mirroring or even bringing back the display to the laptop.
