guys i need some help. i have tried to do this but windows won't let me copy the files into the system32 folder. even when i try it in cmd i just won't let me. i get an error saying that it doesn't have access to the file because it's in use by an other proces. i really don't know how to fix this and i really want the picture frame gone.

Edit: fixed it by stopping the explorer.exe

    Hello KaiserBeel and welcome

First you need to ownership and grant your user account full control over the origional authui.dll - Take Ownership Shortcut then rename it to something like authui.dll_Bak.
Then just copy your edited .dll or the one I have provided to the system32 folder and reboot.

Another option and what I prefer is to use a live bootable cd to access and replace the system files whilst windows isn't running, that way you don't need to mess around with permissions. I use Hiens boot cds mini xp mode to just copy my altered files over to the windows installation whilst it isnt running - Download Hiren Burn it to disk or usb and boot from it into mini xp mode and just swap the files over.

Thanks for the help, apperantly i had to stop the explorer.exe to fix it. and thanks for explaining the hiens boot cds mini xp thingy it looks like something i could use in the future.

Do you know how to make the user name and the other user button dissapear?

I've looked at this before and couldn't find out how to do it apart from logging in without a password which defeats the object as it will skip the logon sceen totally.
Bongo may be able to help with that though, sure he will look back in.

Sorry I would know how to do that either, other than I have read if you remove the username you will not be able to boot your computer I don't know if this is a fact or not but I have read it.
