    Desktop Question

Just started fooling around with windows 7 today.

Their is a feature I'm wondering how to disable though. When you right click on the desktop, in the right click menu I see keywords. When you click it, internet explorer will open up and go to that page. Like showing now is this site and google. Any way to turn this off?

Hello Stadanko, and welcome to Seven Forums.

This is not a feature of Windows 7 that I'm aware of. You might take a screenshot of this and post it to see if it may help determine what it belongs to. :)

    Stadanko,

I would look in Programs and Features in the Control Panel to see if you have some sort of Google toolbar or something installed and listed there. Uninstalling it should remove it for you.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Thanks for the suggestion, though I only have five things installed and it's not any of that.

You can download the free program ShellExView, then after downloading, use compatibility mode and select the Run this program as an administrator option for the exe file. This is a stand alone exe file, and does not install. When you run the program, look for anything listed as Context Menu. You can right click on it and click Disable to see if that is it or not. If not, then you can just enable it again. Here's an example screenshot of the program to help.

That helped in a way. I couldn't find anything using the program for my issue, however I figured out what to search on google. Deleted the registry entries and their gone. I guess it somehow get added when I was messing with the orbit tweaks.

    Thanks.
