    Show Computer Icon on Desktop


    I am using MDT to deploy My Windows 7 images. The WIM already has the registry that changes the name of the "Computer" icon to the PC 's name. Now I need to have the Computer icon to be shown on the desktop whenever anyone logs on. There appears to no GPO's that will turn on the Computer icon on the desktop. Therefore I would like to use a registry key to deploy to all assets. The GUID for the icon is {20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D} but I can't find anywhere what setting turns this on the desktop.

    You might see if the REG file download in step 2 of OPTION TWO in the tutorial below may be able to work for you for this.
