Clock gadget gone, but other gadgets remain

    Hi,

My clock gadget suddenly disappears when I open the pc today. My pc specs are W7 64bit (more in system specs). I noticed that when I right click and go to the 'gadgets' menu, it does not respond.
Other gadget related that do not respond:

    Desktop gadget gallery
Restore desktop gadgets installs with windows
    Add clock gadget
    Install new gadgets

I only have 2 other gadgets:
Net Activity (monitors incoming outgoing net speed)
    Weather

    3rd party gadgets:

    Rainlender 2

I have been using this for 2 years now. Since I have a XP laptop and I have not found a great organiser/calender like rainlender which functions on XP.

Is there a rainlender alternative gadget for W7?

I also experience this, usually when playing games in full screen.

You can turn off the Windows Gadget Platform in Program and Features - Turn Windows Features on and off. Un check the gadget platform and let it do it's thing, restart, it will take a bit to configure, and then go back and re enable it. Might fix the problem.

I had a simmilar problem after turning off a handful of items in the system prop/performance section. Some of it was the sliding and fading items. I restarted and a couple of my gadgets didn't load, including a notes gadget I downloaded and the picture slide show gadget that comes with 7. I'm pretty sure I can turn some of that back on and it will come back. Just thought I'd share. =)

Turned out to be the first box in my case.. "animate controls and elements inside of windows"... =)

I wanted a clock on my screen, so I tried putting the clock gadget on my desktop, and it just disappears instantly. All other gadgets work fine. What's going on?
