Win 7 bootscreen for Vista Ultimate 32bit

Well, I think I've done my share of internet research of how to get an animated Win7 bootscreen for Vista Ult.

I went on Vista Forums and they recommended that I'd go here and said that you guys might have better advice and possibly the answer.

Laptop:

Dell Latitude D620
32bit
Windows Vista Ultimate

I really like the rotating Win7 boot screen and would love to have it on my Vista. Ihad Windows 7 before, but decided to switch back to Vista because my laptop couldn't handle the awesomeness. Help me out guys! If I could have 7 I totally would!

The hardware requirements for Vista and 7 are essentially the same. What could your laptop not handle?

I have a 1.85 ghz processor. I don't know if that slow or not, but when I got 7 it made everything really slow and kept freezing up.

No even better the hardware requirements of Windows 7 are lower then Vista. So I wonder how it can be that Vista runs better... It's usually the other way around. :P

I;d hate to get 7 again because if it dies freeze up again, down grading will cause me lose everything.

I use a Dell 620 at work, it's running Win XP -- and it's really S...L...O...W. While Win7 is, in many cases, faster and less resource-demanding than Vista, on this machine, I would NOT expect it to perform well.

Since the laptop has a builtin CD/DVD drive, if you want to experiment, suggest you do the following:
1) Download and install Macrium Reflect free
2) Use the option to create and burn a Boot CD
3) Image off the Vista installation to an external drive
4) Install Win7 from a DVD, but do NOT enter a product key. This will give you some time to experiment with it to see how well it works.
5) If you like Win7, purchase a license and simply use the feature to change the product key. No need to reinstall.
6) If you don't like Win7, insert the Boot CD, pluging the external drive containing the backup, run MR, and restore your original Vista install. When you remove the Boot CD and reboot, you'll be back to where you are now with nothing gone.
