File Browsing - Details by default

Hey,

I'd like my file browser to display me the list of files in "Details" mode, and I can't find how to set it up as the default settings.

Any idea?

I can't sort by File Types. What happened to File Details?
When I do a search on how to sort, I get a Tutorial that tells me to open the "View" Menu item. However, as you can see from the attached, I don't have a VIEW menu on my Folder. I would like to sort these by file type so that I can save them to a CD. What am I doing wrong here?:(

Video file details?
Has anyone noticed if you rightclick on a video file (.avi) and choose properties, you can no longer tell if it's encoded XviD or DivX or Div3 or 4. When we run XP the details show the encoding version... Any way to fix this?
