Thank you very much, these compliments inspire me to continue.

I have seen a few tips by Nick that have helped and Arc has been somewhat of a mentor to me, taught me a lot and continues to provide much welcomed support

    Thank you everyone.

Jamie pal .. those are looking great ..nice work
One thing you might want to try is playing around with wallpaper designs, believe it or not you can get some great effects and use allot more fancy stuff as you don't have to worry about the finer details working in such a small area.
Working with a larger canvas really helps beginners pick up allot of the tips and tricks that some of the professionals use day to day, you have already got the hang of things in a short period of time and you are doing really well ... so give it a go, you'll be surprised what you can churn out.
There are stacks of tutorials out there so have a squizz at a few and see what you can come up with & if you get stuck just give any of the GFX team a shout and I'm sure we will be able to lend a helping hand

    Your welcome pal :)
Gimp will work just fine, it has more or less has the same functionality as PS so in my opinion stick with it.
PS and Corel is designed for people who want to use it as a work tool ie. from a business/work perspective, if you just want to play about with graphics and learn a bit then you won't need anything more than GIMP and a couple of plugins

Its awesome pal. It doesnt look like created by a starter, it looks like someone created with the coveted badge. Try doing something for others, luck is on your way.

    Cheers.
