Please don't laugh, I just made my 1st ever signature pmsl.

It was done on paint haha.

It looks bad I know and very basic , I guess I need to find some better software and spend a bit more time looking into it.
    Hi paulpicks21,

I think it's a very nice first attempt - I like it We've all got to start with first attempts ;-D
Very true and thankyou for not laughing.

What software is most common for these sort of things?

Any free ones out there that are ok and better than ms paint?

I believe that one very good free program is GIMP; I've played around with the portable version and it's very nice.
Otherwise I use Adobe Photoshop Elements - the skinny version of Adobe Photoshop CS. That one has to be bought, but it is a looooot less expensive than CS ;-)

    Lovely sig for Shawn, Gary

@ Ch@n : A little suggestion ... it would look much better if the text is a heavy one ... and the chrome style being the same with the border ?
Couldnt get a heavy text to fill the sig like before, had to resort to fillers. Made some touch here and there and here you go. Wat say

@Ch@n: cool sig! :-D How did you make those two white swirly "streamers"?
It was created using Corel draw. Head up to Nick's youtube channel and you can find how to make one. Pretty easy to make one if you use CDR. Give it a go.
Nice work Ch@n I like your latest version ... very slick

Arc & PallasAthene looks good keep it up :)

paulpicks21 pal for your first attempt I'm pretty impressed, looks like you might be able to churn out some cool stuff.
Why not try GIMP download it's free and pretty much like PS, it also has some great pluggins and effects which might help you out a bit

looks like PallasAthene had the same advise before I posted

    Your welcome pal :)

Here's a quick sig I made for you ... the psd file is zipped below (soz it's a bit big but it's always best to work with a large res file before exporting it to the actual size --- take note Dennis )
It has all the layers intact so you can play around with it and also see how all the elements combine to create the finished pic. You can open it with GIMP (once you've downloaded and installed it) .... enjoy
