    Help with view on Thumbnails?

It's for a shared folder. I can connect with it as can my wife. Inside the folder are subfolders, each with video files and images. Each subfolder has a single image set to it via the proper Properties>Customize>Folder Pictures-Choose File method.

If I access the folder, the subfolders show the single image as the thumbnail as intended. However, when my wife accesses it, its the usual thumbnail collage of items within the subfolder. We've tried setting the images in the same manner from her account, however nothing happens. All we're trying to do is set the subfolders up so that when she opens the folder, each subfolder thumbnail has a specified image for it. Again, it works as it should for me, but not for my wife.

I suspect some permissions issue, however I've checked every possible setting. Public access, permissions, account type level, there's no apparent reason why this should be happening.

    Little help?

Hello Covenant. I will bring your post to the attention of our Gurus, hopefully someone will have some help for you. Sorry you haven't gotten help yet, perhaps it's because it is not easy, and no one has had the answer yet. Hang in there. A Guy

Your wife's system is what version of Win 7? Home premium, starter, or what?

Simply run WINVER.EXE on her computer to find out.

You may set the folder thumbnail preview manually . It will work for both the user accounts.

First, Select the image you want to use as thumbnail. Copy the in the same folder/subfolder , the name of the copy being Folder.jpg. If you want , you may hide it .

Now the thumbnail preview is permanent .... a single image . Deleting thumbnail cache will not remove it , and this will show the same image for even in dual boot installations, too .

The first image is from windows 7, and the second one is from XP.... from my laptop with XP and 7 dual boot .

Arc, if you'll read, I've tried the simple method you provide. And though it should work, it does not, thus the problem. Besides, in hindsight I shouldn't have to follow that method, the damn thing should work as its suppose to in the first place. I need to know how to fix whatever dumb malfunction is occuring in Windows.
