    Another good freeware is F.lux which automatically adapts your computer's display to the daylight times at your location.
    I was going to plug F.lux--it is really cool--but definitely takes some getting used to. It keeps your eyes from burning out at night by dimming and warming the screen color, and keeps the screen a decent brightness and a daylight color during the day. It's meant as a productivity and health tool.

    I needed this when I couldn't sleep...it was too many steps on the old Dell monitor...

    Now my justification for that new 23 or 27" is gone
