Hello Noyb,
The page icon is the default icon for TXT file when Notepad is the default program. You can change the icon for the .txt file extension though to use the Notepad icon with the path %windir%\system32\notepad.exe,-2 by using the tutorial below though.
File Extension Type Icon - Change - Vista Forums
Hope this helps,

Hello Zidane,
That's the icon that he has in his attached image though, unless I'm missing something. It though that he wante to change the default .txt icon to use the Notepad icon instead.
Many Thanks Brink .. I'm gonna mark this one solved.
At least I now know it's working as it should.
But it makes no sense to me to show a Thumbnail for an Icon.
I thought an Icon was to show the associated program .. or other file/program info.
To add to my confusion .. I fired up Paint to grab my previous screen shots.
I didn't want to load my favorite programs just yet .. in case they were messing me up.
The Paint gif images show up as a Paint Icon and not an Image Thumbnail.
I fail to see the logic or any consistency.
I had a hunch my Avatar would be appropriate
I'm gonna blame this on a wetware problem
Do you by any chance have "show thumbnails insntead of icons" disabled on the performance options > Visual Effects options?
NO .. I'm familiar with that option .. And tried it both ways.
Too bad I can't disable "show thumbnails instead of icons" on the desktop Display only ..
This would solve another one of my Vista or W7 irritations.
It will not let me use my customized Image Icons on the Desktop ... Unless I disable ALL Thumbnail Viewing...
and Thumbnail viewing is handy when browsing a folder of Images.
