    Modifying system dialogs

    Hi!

I changed some dialogs of C:\Windows\System32\es-ES\shell32.dll.mui (file that contains the system language dialogues) For example: I changed "Documents" dialog to "Papers". Replace it and reboot. But I see no changes in the modify dialogs. I'm doing it right?

    * I'm working with reshacker and I have the permissions solved.

There might be several more copies of that file in C:\windows\winsxs folder.

I had two more copies - RTM and SP1.
Look for two folders with a name like this:

    C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-shell32.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_en-us_SOME_RANDOM_NUMBERS_HERE

Each copy was in separate folder.

You're running a 64bit system. You have to modify another file in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\es-ES
Most, but not all, system files are doubled up in the 64 bit system. Always do a search first.

And don't think it is good enough to modify, say, just the sytem32 file and replace the two system files with just that one. Most of the time they are slightly different. You have to modify both. The only exception I've found to this (so far) is imageres.dll.
