    Looking for Library icon locations!

Hello all, I'm new to the forum in that I just created an account BUT, I've been here tons of times in the past finding answers to a multitude of questions. My problem is, I just created a new library and start menu link.

I looked through all the common places:
    imageres.dll
    explorer.dll
    shell32.dll

BUT, There is STILL one Icon I haven't found yet:

I am also looking for a way to change the text when I hover over the Dropbox button. Currently it says "Watch TV programs..." because I just used the recorded TV start menu link as my dropbox link. (Instructions are from another site so I won't post them, they are also not all that relevant to my current issues)

I have changed ALL the other icons used for "Recorded TV" except for that one in the bottom of the window. Any idea where to find it?

    Thanks!

Hello Puttsy, and welcome to Seven Forums.

The tutorial below can help show you how to change the icon of a library folder at all locations.

    Libraries Icons - Change

    Hope this helps some,

After two restarts all the Recorded TV Icons have changed however, Now my concern is, how do you change the text when you hover over an item. Such as the red circled "Watch TV Programs recorded onto your computer" text when you hover over the start menu links?

Thanks! It just took some patients to get all the icons to fully change.

    That's good news so far.

I'm afraid that I have not found where the pop-up messages may be at to be able to change them either. I'll keep looking, and if I find anything, I'll be sure to post back.

I have tried it, Shawn ! As I dont have a TV tuner/recorder, I dont use the "Watch TV" link there in my startmenu ....

but this location contains all the other mouse hover pop-ups of the links ....

For puttsy, it also should be there, IMO . So it is to take ownership of the target fie (i.e. C:\Windows\SysWOW64\en-US\explorer.exe.mui), open it with Resource Hacker, alter/modify the string value , and save the result on desktop .

Now it is to replace the original with the modded one, and restart the computer .

       Warning
Dont forget make a system image (Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup) before modding a system file , for safety reasons !

I found the "Watch TV Programs Recorded to Your Computer" pop-up dialog and changed it to "Access the My Dropbox Library and Sync files across computers." however, It STILL pops up as "Watch TV Programs..." after replacing the file. I removed the link from the start menu, restarted, replaced the link and it still is unchanged.

The location of this text is:

    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\en-US\explorer.exe.mui

    String_Table > 22> 1033

I took ownership prior to editing the string and it hasn't changed anything. Has anyone had any luck editing those Pop-up's by chance? Is it actually possible or does windows store the pop-up text elsewhere too?

I am fairly new to editing these files so it *may* be operator error but, I do want to know if you more experienced guys have had luck changing that text?

I'll post back if I get it figured out. If anyone wants the dropbox images/edited files, let me know and I'll host them with a tutorial on adding the dropbox start menu link. (I DID NOT originally come up with the idea, I found a guide elsewhere and followed it)
