    Explorer Favorites Pinning

In vista on the left pane in explorer it was split between the regular file navigation and a favorites area at the top. The favorites was always available and allows for you to click on your most used folders faster. In Vista the favorites isn't pinned up there anymore. Any one know of a way around this? I could create a bunch of "send too's" to replace being able to just drag stuff into my favorites but that is more work.

Mine are there, they just aren't pinned. In vista they were in a seperate window pane so they would be up at the upper left at all times, even if you scrolled down through your other folders. So now if I want to organize things, I dig down through my folders, then I have to scroll the pane all the way back to the top to get to my favorite folder to drag a file into it. Then scroll all the way down and continue on with other folders

In vista they were "pinned" up and were visible at all times, so you could at any time drag a file into a favorite folder and keep on going without having to scroll around everywhere.

ah, i see what you mean.

sorry, i do not know how to pin them.

i don't think it's possible - maybe third-party solutions will appear as more users get frustrated by this?

Hello Anthony, and welcome to Vista Forums.

The only option currently is to drag and drop the items to the Favorites section in the Navigation Pane to add them.

I'm really ticked off that they removed this feature. It was THE BEST PART OF VISTA!!! and now it's gone from Win7. I used it hundreds of times a day and now it's gone. It's like if Microsoft decided to re-engineer a car and decided to remove the door handles but keep the doors. I hope a 3rd party app comes out because I'm lost without it.
