changing size of user account picture?

hi guys! i am currently using windows 7 home premium 32 bit and having problem with changing size of user account picture.

what it is is when i change the 128 x 128 picture's size to 64 x 64 and set it as user account picture and see the log on screen, it doesn't actually shrink. instead what i am getting is a blurry version still with the size of 128 x 128.

it seems that windows 7 has a fixed setting on that. and i need your help!

any contribution would be appreciated. thanks!

Not really understanding why this is an issue for you.... that being said.
The image will always be that default size though, I'm not aware of a way to change it.
Whether you use a 64pixel or a 8megapixel digital camera image it's going to show the same size there.

Hmm okay, I think I get it - you mean this picture over here?
User Account Picture - Change

What you could do, if your small picture insists on expanding to 128 x 128, is to create a blank transparent frame around your 64 x 64 picture so that the overall picture is 128 x 128, and then save the picture as png, that way the transparent pixels of the frame do not get lost.

i just did it. and all the transparent frame becomes white when seen on log on page, thus not accomplishing the reduction of the picture

Here's a quote from Brink that might help clarify the issue:

"You can select to use any BMP, DIB, RLE, GIF, JPG, or PNG image file for the display picture. The image can only be up to 128 x 128 pixels in size to prevent it from being automatically cropped to fit the user display box. If it is bigger than this, just resize it. "

I was afraid that that would happen Looks like one is stuck with the 128 x 128 setting - preferably an image should not be above or below that size...I can't think of anything else, but maybe someone else can :-D
