Strange icons for shortcuts and files!

    Strange icons for shortcuts and files!


    Help does anybody know why this is happening??!?

    What's strange there ? For changing folder icon,look this
    Folder Icon - Change Windows 7 Default Folder Icon

    or

    Folder Icon - Change Default Icon

    Thanks, but what do you mean you can't see what's wrong? Look at the shortcut icon and the defender icon.

    They are shortcuts or ? You may need to rebuild icons cache. Icon Cache - Rebuild

    Also run a scan with SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    Are you talking about the overlay icon that is replacing the 'shortcut arrow' icon on the shortcut? If so, these tutorials might help:

    Shortcut Arrow - Change, Remove, or Restore
    Overlay Remover
    Restoring the default shortcut arrow (for Vista, but probably works in Win 7)

    Look at the defender Icon of the file.

    that usually happens on files that don't have a program to open them up.

    Again, what about it? Please explain, IN WORDS, what the problem is. We're trying to help you, but we're not mind readers. What exactly is the problem with the defender icon? WHAT usually happens when files don't have a program that opens them up?
