i enjoy making this stuff so here you go. i provided a .gif preview, a zip
with the "black Bruce Lee" animation, and a zip with the "original win7" animation
just in case something goes wrong. the zips include the "single file .bmp" and the
individual 105 .bmp files required to change the animation (all .bmp files are at 24 bit depth)
good luck and enjoy!

Dude, that is awesome. Thanks so much! Much respect!
Is it difficult to make those? I wouldn't mind doing an all original animation personally but I never tried putting video into a format that would fit the boot anim.
not a problem JEA99 im always makin .gifs outa stuff like that so i enjoyed it.Dude, that is awesome. Thanks so much! Much respect!
ty for rep. reply if ya need something else.
Its not really that difficult, just a little time consuming. and they must beIs it difficult to make those? I wouldn't mind doing an all original animation personally but I never tried putting video into a format that would fit the boot anim.
formatted correctly
1st thing is for a boot animation the format can be setup 1 of 2 ways:
1. "complete" meaning the format is one 24bit .bmp file @ 200x21000 and named
"activity.bmp" without quotes. (save the .bmp in a folder called "complete")
or
2. "Pieces" meaning the animation is individual frames with the following specs:
105 files, 24bit, 200x200, named: "activity000.bmp" thru "activity104.bmp"
(save these files in a folder called: "pieces")
I use "win7bootupdater" to install it. its free and safer then messing round with system files.
get win7bootupdater here:

hope this is straightforward enough for most.
i suppose i can make these for people if you provide the video clips. :)

That is actually really easy. Thanks for the info I think I will play with this a bit later today and see what I can come up with.
Awesome!
I'm so pants at anim! Would you be kind enough to make this one for me?

If it's really time consuming I could try and do it myself! It would never hurt to practise and if i'm just being lazy say so. Whats the best way to get the images out of the video?
Do I convert the FLV to AVI then use something that exports the frames as .bmps then crop each image in the same place at 200x200px (centered) or slightly larger if needed and then resize them individually?
Or should I use something to crop and resize the video in what ever format to get a 200x200px video then export the frames. (thinking about it this way seems easier)
I have a modified boot ani I tried making already but I couldnt get it to loop smoothly (even though I specificly chooose one that should be easy to do this with) any tips on calculating which frames to keep and which frames to remove?
sub styler
i agree practice is everything but i just went ahead and made it.
i jus had to pick through and get rid of a few un needed frames
between the asus and the logo to shorten it to 105. let me know
if something is not quite right. dont forget to say thanks!
ENJOY!
Anybody else want one?

maybe ill put together a tutorial in a few days but, i use a few different programs...
i like "KMP player for extracting the frames.
(it allows me to get every frame for smooth animations)
then i batch resize and crop (if needed) with "ACDSee Pro".
(it does fairly good quality resizing)
then drop the frames into "Unlead Gif Animator" to preview the animation.
(it can do the crop and resize functions, but it does a shit job. leaving the images pixelated)
