    Check out this thread :

    Windows 7 Theme & Resource Mods

    It has links and instructions for BLACK, BLUE, DARKBLUE and RED progressbars for both x86 and x64.
    There are also lots of other mods and tweaks to find there...

    Found it accidently when googling for win7 mods.

    Hopefully it will serve some ppl.

    1st
    Make a custom theme so you do not corrupt the original look at Post #38 Here it will show you how.

    2nd
    You will need to do 1 of these 2 ways of Enabling custom themes for it to work.
    Enabling Custom Themes - Windows 7
    Or
    Theme - How to Apply Custom Themes

    3rd
    Use this tutorial will show how to edit the .msstyles Taskbar Button: Change Color of Orange Flashing Button

    If changing the Green progress bar it's image # 656 if you want to change the blue progress bar it's image # 659.
