    Being able to see text from 6+ feet away on monitor/tv


    ive been transfering my pc screen to my 40 inch tv but my 40 inch tv is like 10 feet away and the text is really hard to read...i can make it "larger" but i have to log off to do that nad log back on, and thats a pain in the ass if i got a bunch of stuff open

    any ideas? thanks so much

    Depends - the best way to do it is indeed to change the screen text size using the display control panel applet (125 or 150% works great at a distance). You only need to change it and logoff once, so that's your best bet.

    but then itll be big when i switch back to my monitors too right? and ill have to logg off and back on again to make it small?

    Hello Mat,

    You could see if lowering the screen resolution to have everything appear bigger may help without having to restart or log off. You may need to try different resolutions to have one that looks good to you since not using the native resolution may have things appear a bit blurry.

    Big is relative - I find, when I have multiple displays, that 125% works best. That's at 1920x1200 resolution on all of the monitors, of course, but yes. I'm not a fan of monkeying with the resolution, simply because that makes things blurry if not using the native resolution (and for those of us with bad eyes, this is *not* a reasonable tradeoff).
