Skinning non-aero capable desktop

    i've heard of custom styles messing with explorer on some machines. nobody is quite sure why it happens.

    sorry it's not working for you. i've been running custom styles on my machine for the last few months without issue...

    I restored the box and then, carefully, installed things one at a time. First, the UxStyle patcher, and then the "Luna Royal for Basic" theme. And, voila, I now have an XP-looking Seven desktop!!

    Yeah, I know it's "retro", but ANYTHING is better than Basic!

    I probably messed the box up myself previously when I was messing with other themes.

    good news that you got it working!

    here's another i found for basic. it's marked as 'beta' but this whole suite just came out recently so i'm sure the author is still active. i never much cared for such dark themes, but check it out :)
