Could pinned apps act as quick launch

Is there a way to make pinned apps act as quick launch? This guy has it happening as an accident but the more I think about it....it would be nice to have a check box in the task bar properties to make the pinned apps act as quick launch or normally.

Have you seen this thread? I think it would be nice for MS to think about this.
I know you can create a quick launch but it would be nicer this way.

That's not gonna happen, it goes against the whole philopshy of windows 7 of having one spot for all functions of an app/action/etc.

I guess most people don't understand or care about the quick launch. Some of us like to be able to press the quick launch to launch a new window. The way Windows 7 is set up, after you have a program launched, you have to right-click and choose to launch another window. I thought more people would like this idea of having the pinned apps act like quick launch.

To open a new window just click the middle button on the icon.

The new-style taskbar has largely superceded quicklaunch.
