    Hi Jerry--
I downloaded and copied the folder and file to the Windows/resources/themes folder and then restared Windows 7.
So far, I still get the glow as appears in the attached screen capture. Do I need to change a setting?
    Thanks,

    Ian

    Hi Jerry--
I have attached a current screen cap to show the results after installing the theme and restarting the PC.
It did get rid of the whitish cloud behind the window titles--thank you. Now I note that all title bars are in a pale light blue color. Is there a way I can adjust this so that it is set for dark navy blue instead? So what I am trying to achieve is that for any message or dialog box that his focus (is on top), that message/dialog box title would have white font of Segoe 9pt, and a solid color background for the title in dark blue; the secodary screen behind it that is not in focus would be med. grey background, with white font, as in the graphic I attach to this message. I found that when I tried to adjust this myself manually, it did not take effect.
    Thank you again.

Trying to adjust the title background with Windows Color and Appearance only works with Classis theme.
I can make something like that, let me make a test will be back.

    Jerry--

You've got it! The second example you attached to the email is just about perfect. Could you (last request) make the blue on the screen in focus a bit darker, more like a Navy blue? And solid (not transparent) on all title backgrounds. Wonderful--I will research on how to do this myself with themes. I really appreciate your help today!

Post something with the blue color you want I can then match it. Do you still want the inactive title background gray?
I use Ave's Windows7 Style Builder to edit or make themes it's about &22.50 US.
    Let me know

    Hi Jerry--

Yes that would be great! I have attached a file/screen cap that shows the dark blue I am seeking to match for the background color for Windows title bars that are in focus, and the medium-light gray that I am seeking to match for the background color for windows not in focus.

    Thanks again, Jerry.

1st switch to the default Aero theme and then log off and log on then go to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\NoGlow_Windows7 folder and replace(or delete) the .mstyles with the new 1 I made and try it and see how it looks.
Let me know if it's OK

    Hi Jerry--

I attach an example of the results today after selecting the Aero theme, logging off, restarting the PC, and then copying the new windows visual style file to replace the older style file within the No_Glow_Windows7 folder at the same level as the en-US and Shell folders. All looks good except we now have the glow behind the title again.

    Thanks,

    Ian
