    Screen is too wide

My screen looks almost bloated, like the scroll bar and task bar are still too large and nothing fits perfectly on the screen, it hangs out over to the left just slightly. It's useable, just obnoxious and it looks awful. The resolution is as high as it will go and my icons are on small. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Windows Seven Forums QuantumRiot !:)

can you be more specific about your system (fill in as much as you can on the specs page.)

In the meantime, is it a laptop or desktop and what is the current screen resolution being used

also do you know what type of video hardware/software you are using?

If it's a desktop, see if you can adjust your monitor using its controls. Most monitors have an auto-fit feature that will center the desktop image and make it fill the screen just so without cutting off the edges.

    Does that help?

    I have the same problem

    Hi,

I have the same problem on my Toshiba A210, having taken the laptop to the repairer (I had Vista Anti-Virus 2012 virus on it) Ithen got it back with Windows 7 but the screen was too wide-looking and slightly fuzzy. Any recommendations?

I have the same problem on my Fujitsu Lifebook AH530

My laptop was in an infinite reboot loop, so I gave my laptop to be fixed, but when it came back, the screen is wide..in screen resolution there are only two options, low and high, and there is no option of orientation or anything else..i use Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit, and I've tried installing graphic drivers from the CD, but it wont work because it either say it is incompatible (because of the 32 bit) or something else..
Could you help me? I've tried everything..

laptop too wide - there is a solution but I don't know what it was!

    Hello all and lejlah,

I did manage to solve this problem which means that anyone can solve it as I knopw very little about PCs. However, I solved it at 4am about a year ago and cannot remember what I did, at all.

My advice is to do what I did, which is go through every fix page you can on the internet, using a search term such as "laptop screen too wide with Win 8", etc.

I'm so sorry I can't be of more help. It was very frustrating when I had this problem, but I did fix it, which means you can too.

    Best,
    Gavin
