Windows 7: Changing pinned icons??

Changing pinned icons??

I just noticed that it seems impossible to customize the icons of programs pinned to the taskbar/superbar.

You can change the icon, and any other instances of it will appear properly, but the one pinned to the taskbar is the one contained in the EXE and nothing else.

This is terrible, the taskbar/superbar is a lot like the OSX dock, but what good is it to have these nice big icons if you can't even customize them?

Please tell me someone has found a work-around for this.

Create a shortcut. Customize the icon. Pin the shortcut.

Not true
This is what i did;
You need to unpin the program from the taskbar, find the program in the Start menu, change the icon, open it back up, then pin the open instance.
Make sense? LOL

In IE9 you can pin your favourite websites to the taskbar. If it is a large commercial site it may have its own Icon and that is displayed in the Taskbar. Grouping pinned icons in superbar
My settings are set to never combine my taskbar buttons, but I also have some pinned icons on my superbar. Pinned icon behaviour is different for certain icons
Hi all, I have the Task Bar buttons setup for 'always combine, hide labels'. Usually when I open a pinned icon, the app opens and the pinned icon 'grows' a border to indicate the app is open. However some pinned icons (itunes, for example), do not exhibit this behavior, instead it opens...
