    How do i setup two different and running desktop in one computer


    hi all,
    is there anyway to run 2 desktop in one computer like, have one desktop with my work and other with everything else and when i need to check bout my work or anything else i just switch between them.
    is there a way to do this in without having two monitors..
    please guide i am a newbie on this one

    Hello Prem1003

    I guess one way would be to make another user account and use one for work and one for play - User Account - Create That way your personalized desktop settings would be different for each account and just log off/on to switch between then.

    There's no way of doing it that I can think of, but it is early yet!:) You can of course save different themes for appearance but without a separate user account or OS you wouldn't be able to for example set different desktop shortcuts as there would be only one user profile.

    There may be some third party software that will do what you want but I'm not aware of it. Hang around see if anyone else knows of anything.

    the one u gave me will only work on two computers...
    but i am looking to make computer into two. without having two monitors. its like splitting the desktop.. can it be done???
