ok so i had the same problem and i thought wait i can just download the jar file on lunix it works just as well and so i did and open the jar inside the jar there sould be alot of files and a folder called net in that folder is a folder called minecraft in that is a file caled favicon that is the png you must change if you need proof the just send reply i will get it
