Picture folder icon customization help needed

Simple I am sure, but cannot find the solution. In my pictures library/directory I have many folders. Almost all the folders have a tiny image of one of the photos contained in that folder. For whatever reason one of those folders will not display that tiny image no matter what I have tried.

I have tried clicking folder properties>customize>Folder pictures>choose file or restore default. Does thing. The folder icon for this folder continues to show empty.

    Any tips?

Do you have a folder within that folder that can sometimes make a thumbnail not show properly.
You could try this tutorial Thumbnail Cache - Clear and Reset to see if it will help.

Yes, and all the other folders look correct. It is just this one folder that refuses to show the little thumbnail.

Do your other folders where the thumbnail shows do you have multiple folders in them?

Performed the tutorial. No change. The folder structure is:

My Pictures> Family Photos>Many more folders each with photos by decade.

The Family Photos folder refuses to display a thumbnail, but the folders within show the thumbnail fine.

Did it ever shows thumbnails for that folder?

I took some screenshots of My Pictures the top two rows have folders within folders and did not show thumbnails. The second screenshot shows the first folder opened and there are still more folders in it when I open it I have two folders that show the thumbnails.

Mostly TIFF, but just for fun I threw in a JPG and did not change.

A while back this folder showed correctly. not sure when it got messed up. I wil try recreating and dumping the contents of the old in to the new.

    Maybe that folder is corrupted.
