Welcome to Seven Forums samhost. You would have to edit the Basebrd.Dll located in %windir%\Branding\Basebrd\ with something like Reshacker . If you are not familiar with editing system files, I wouldn't recommend it. If you do try, make sure to backup the original dll. You might try searching for winver.exe or BaseBrd.dll on Deviantart for precompiled dll files. winver.exe just calls on the image in BaseBrd.dll . A Guy

    Hello Sam,

Where have you seen this before? I think you're really asking for trouble with changing that string! A lot of programs will query winver.exe for the Windows version prior to the installation of a program, or an update. If it finds a string that isn't a default one, I bet you would find a lot of your programs will stop working

    Hello Sam ...
You first Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup ; if it troubles , you can restore the image to get your things back.

Then, open winver.exe with resource hacker (the both of system32 and syswow64, one by one), go to version info > 1> 1033 and change the strings there. Save the results on your desktop (dont apply the change directly). Now replace the system files, and restart windows.

If it causes any failure in computers normal operation, restore the image previously created.
