I just disabled sidebar gadgets, and my lappy seems to be MUCH faster!!
CPU is an AMD E-350 and 6GB RAM. Cool!

Can you tell me how you disabled Gadgets? Only had Win7 a week or so. Still feeling my way around. But, don't want unnecessary crap cluttering things up.

    Thanks!

If you have no gadgets on the desktop, there is nothing to uninstall. If you have gadgets, hover over them and click on the X that shows up.

Not new to Windows. Just Windows 7. Been using CCleaner for years. Great tool.

Welcome to Seven Forums MissMinerva. You can also turn the Gadget Platform off

Windows Features - Turn On or Off

Scroll down to Windows Gadget Platform, and uncheck the box.
