    Icon-problem in libraries

In former versions, we could set a CDs front as icon in our music-folder. Now in Windows 7 it does _allmost_ the same, but it wraps an ugly yellow foler around it, look at my example:

How do I change it back, so the CD-cover is used as icon, as in XP?

Sorry if somebody else has asked this. I have tried to search for it, but my English might not be good enough, as I did not find anything.

You can make from the Cover an Icon.
Then you can replace the new Icon.

Hi Sven, unfortunately the folders you are seeing are the Windows 7 standard. Windows 7 has been refined to include folders in the icons in order to show that it is infact a folder. I would have a look at what moinmoin suggests but if you have a large music base then it would take an extremely long time to sort out.

I can't get it to work. I have tried to point to the path as moinmoin wrote, but then Win7 just gives an error saying, that the file don't contain any icons. The file I tried with is the .jpgfile that Win7 uses to show the default icon (the cover)

Have you make the icon with IcoFX or Axialis IconWorkshop?
You need all size from 32x32 to 256x256 (Vistaicons)

Sure. But this is the only opportunity.

No, I have not made any icons. Windows 7 uses the small .jpgfile in the folder (mediaplayer downloads this jpg-file when making the library-entry, and uses it in Music-library view in Mediaplayer)to make the view with the big yellow folder around the CD-cover.
Same way I did in XP, and there it showed up as the .jpg as icon.

Why not display the music library in album view

    No extra work involved :)

That is exactly what I'm looking for, but how do I change the library-folders to do as in your picture?

If you display the library and click on the light blue Arange by: "Folder" on the top right you can select various options one of which is album (which is the one shown in my screen-shot)

One thing to check is that the library is set to display as "Music", (the default), as the options available on this dropdown vary for others such as documents

Look at my library, please. How do I get the "Arrange by:" selection to show up?
