    Navigate to:

All Programs >Accessories>System Tools> Disk Cleanup

Select your Boot drive and click OK
Check the Thumbnails checkbox (make sure nothing else is checked)
    Click OK
When prompted, click the Delete Files button

    Hope this helps..

look i installed hddlife program for hard disk healt....but i uninstalled it and the icons changed like u see................
Thats the reason why your Icons are messed up!
See Your Drive's Health and Performance Anywhere!
HDDlife® displays your drive's health, working temperature, amount of free space, and performance numbers in a convenient manner thanks to just another trademarked technology - AnywhereView™. AnywhereView™ replaces the standard Windows disk icons that you see in My Computer and other Explorer windows, and while opening or saving documents in all Windows programs such as Microsoft Word or even Notepad. Instead of the standard icons, you'll see the dynamic versions provided by HDDlife® that display the health of your disks as a convenient percentage bar. Even if you miss the warnings, you'll still see the problem when it starts developing.
So try a restorepoint of before this installation or, if not available, to reinstall. this program and look if you got an option to not mess with the default System-Icons!

Check if there are any autoruns or a file that may revert your icon inside the Drive Folder. Iv had issues with them in my USB.
You may want to uncheck the " Hide protected operating system files" in Tools > folder options.
Note: Make sure you check the tick back later.

    Hi,

Show Hidden Files in Folder options, then go here:

    C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\IconCache.db

Rt click IconCache.db and delete it.

Restart pc - Windows will recreate it on restart.
