Within services & with Desktop Window Management selected, try clicking 'restart' to force the service to restart and see if that helps :)

    By default I'll say you're on 32bit.

Download driver sweeper and uninstall your Nvidia drivers.

Boot in safe mode and run driver sweeper, clearing out the old Nvidia files.

Download a new copy of your drivers ( save it somewhere else incase you get mixed up ) and try installing them once again.

Man, i tried but don´t work too.... and the Desktop Manger i restart a lot but don´t work too i´m getting nervous....

if someone know more options please i´m listening!

I think my instalation is corrupted because IE8 does not work too

I try install all drivers I found but not work, i use the driver sweeper and it doesn´t work too.

I think the Desktop Window Management is bugged too.

If you know your machine is capable, you may want to try to 'force' it..

    1. Open Registry Editor (RegEdit).
    2. Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM
If the DWM registry key is not found, right click on Windows and then select New -> Key to create new branch and name it as DWM.
    3. In the right details pane, create a new DWORD (32-bit value) named UseMachineCheck, and set its value to 0.
    4. In the right details pane, create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value named Blur, and set its value to 0.
    5. In the right details pane, create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value named Animations, and set its value to 0.
    6. Restart the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager in Services in Control Panel (type Services.msc in Start Search), or run the following commands in a command prompt with administrator privileges: net stop uxsms
      net start uxsms
    7. Attempt to enable and apply Windows Aero in Windows 7. Restart the computer if required.

I had similar problem where the aero effect wasn't working on my notebook. In the theme box there was an option to troubleshoot the aero. When it does i would get a bluescreen. nv4 mini.sys. I had the xp version driver installed. I uninstalled it and reinstall the nvidia vista driver. And now everything is working correctly. Hopefully this help.

The notebook is sony vaio sz 110b.
