Hide Folder Names in Libraries

Sorry if this post is in the wrong section and sorry if the answer to my question is already available on the forums. I did try to search but I don't really know what to search under.

I have moved the location of My Pictures folder to another partition on my system. For some reason the location change has not updated in the Pictures Library. I have manually added the location of the folder but it now shows that folder as a group within the folder.

Changing My Videos Folder Icon, Hide Recent Folder?
I was hoping to be able to change the default icon for "My Videos" folder. I have renamed it to "Downloads" to use as my download folder. I was hoping to be able to do this without creating a desktop.ini file. I'm hoping it's a registry entry, or failing that, I could change the icon in the dll,...

Does Windows save logs somewhere that shows folder names / file names?
Probably it doesn't and my question is a long shot - but I recently toasted a drive, and it had many folders and files which I have little memory of. I also never used one of those nice apps that makes a list. Any help appreciated. Much obliged. Tt
