    thats much better, i rackon you could keep the word docs in a folder , that would reduce it further.

    Again, I need those in my face, especially the shopping lists, or I'll never deal with them (functioning with ADHD is all about compensation, reminders, etc.). When an item is out of sight (and not in my face), then it's out of mind. When I do download a large number of files, such as photos, they do go to a temp folder, such as the Destination folders on the desktop. If I'm going to be in and out of a file frequently for a short while, I find it more convenient to leave it on the desktop until I'm done with it instead of having to drill down to it everytime I access it.

    For me, the desktop is tool, not just a place to put a pretty picture.
