I might have misunderstood your issue......
Will the following way help ?

Right click at the taskbar > make sure no checkmark at " Lock the Taskbar "
Left click at the taskbar and HOLD > drag the taskbar either to the bottom or at the top > let go Hold > lock the taskbar.

thx for reply, I have my taskbar on left side of my screen, just drag your taskbar to left side and you will see that 1 icon take 1 line (picture 1). I want few icons in one line (picture 2) when my taskbar is on left side of my screen.

Welcome to Seven Forums 1koj. I believe t-4-2 understood you, but you realize you are taking a horizontal taskbar that displays the icons horizontally, changing the taskbar to a vertical position, then asking how to display the icons horizontally again?? A Guy

I do understand what you want to do, but I'm afraid it isn't possible. Even if it was, there is not enough space. A Guy

not enough space? there is planty of space.. I have spece for 4/5 icons to one row. On win xp was no problem with horizontal icons, here is one icon one row (why they came with this idea anyway? weird..). I like win7 more than xp and this is last thing that I need to change to have almost perfect system. There is no line in registry for this? there has to be something, don't believe that i'm only one have this problem or change is so simple that no one even bother...

ps. I need that because i'm working on two monitors at the same time, there is much easier to work when you have taskbar between two of them

Should create the look you want

    My first FIX
    Unlock task bar
Click and drag task bar to desired side
    Add folder in discrete location
Create new toolbar on the task bar with desired folder location
Re-size task bar until icons aline as desired
    Lock task bar

Sorry using XP partition to post this, didn't do a screen shot, but I would appreciate a post of your screen shot once you try these steps if they work for you.

Hope I helped and can help again in the future.
