    Windows Explorer Lost Pinups

I normally have shortcuts to various folders pinned to my Windows Explorer icon on my toolbar, but sometimes these disappear. Right now is one of those times. All I have are "frequent" folders, without any of my pinup shortcuts. Why does Microsoft hate me so much?

    Hello Pooua,

You might give the Microsoft hotfix in the link below a try to see if it may help.
Also, double check to make sure that you have recent programs turned on.

In addition, you might go ahead and backup your jump lists using the tutorial incase they disappear again. This way you will be able to easily restore them.
    Hope this helps, :)

Thanks, Brink, I learned a lot, but I don't see how any of this is helping me solve the problem at hand.

The MS hotfix link took me a MS page that offered me a jump list program update by way of a link. When I clicked on the link from the MS page, I got a page that said, "We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found." I tried searching for anything on the MS site that had anything to do with jump lists, but I did not find anything relevant.

I have recent programs turned on, but I am not trying to pin programs; I'm trying to pin folders.

I haven't tried the backup and restore process, yet. I did open the CustomDestinations folder, and I can see several files in it, the files having dates that go back to when I built this computer. I don't know what I can do with them, apart from backing up and restoring them.

    Sorry Pooua,

I was thinking programs instead of folders for some odd reason.

Looks like MS removed the hotfix.

Yes, the backup part is just so that you will be able to backup and restore your jump lists items. If you should lose them in the future, you'll always be able to restore the last backup to have them right back. That's all.

If you like, you can use the tutorial below to completely reset and clear jump lists to wipeout any corruption. It'll take about a day for frequent items to repopulate in the jump lists, and you'll have to repin anything you want, but this should hopefully fix it for you. :)
