    Custom Explorer Background Image

lately, i've been looking for a way to change the normally white background image of windows explorer to an image of my own.

i have found the usual methods for both XP and VISTA ineffective for 7.

has anyone else had any luck in accomplishing this? any ideas? :]

Are you talking about the background in folders?

I wonder about that too. I found that it's the Aero theme that makes things complicated. For regular, non-Aero themes I can easily change at least the
background color of the Windows Explorer - through advanced settings in
personalization. But this does not work for Aero. Moreover, all the pretty
skins I saw on devianArt or other such sites that have the explorer changed
seem to be non-Aero as well. Does anyone know how to keep the Aero and
    change the background color?

Man I've been working my ass off, even talked to a programmer I know and he couldn't figure it out ( he does games mainly ) anyway, best I could find was the explorershell to change say the back and forward buttons, etc but thats about it unfortunately =(

I'll continue to look but ya I don't really see anyone finding it.

    Thanks,

that sucks. i wonder what is so different about win7's explorer compared to vista's..

i'm sure it's just a matter of time until someone figures it out, but +9,000 internets to whoever does so.

    Hi there,

I don't think this counts as figuring it out, but I did a little research and posted on another SF thread about this issue: how set a background image of Windows 7 folders

I'll still take the internets if you're still offering :P

    Cheers,
