Some pictures won't properly orient in desktop background?

I have put a series of pictures (in Picasa 3) together and have them showing as a desktop background slide show (through Personalization). The problem is that there are about 4 out of 30 pictures that won't display right-side up. That is, although they are right side up in Personalization and in Picasa 3, they are orientated either one step counter-clockwise, or one step clockwise. Even though I tried changing their orientation to "correct" for their wrong orientation, the pictures still showed with the wrong orientation. Is there any way I can get them to show correctly oriented?

    Hi Flycaster.
Sounds quite weird. I'm not familiar with Picasa but many application have automatic orientation though rarely faulty.
Did you try viewing it using other application, just to see if it is oriented differently?

Yeah, I also tried correcting the pics orientation via Fastone, but it too didn't work.

You did? That is totally weird, at least to me. Hope there are other members who know about Picasa.

Talk about weird. I started fooling around some more with orienting the mis-behaving pics, and somehow they are now all right side up.

Good to hear that. When it still follow the logic, we can do some workarounds.

Bummer. Those pics that straightened out, are now in need or re-orientation, again....

It did? Think you should re-manipulate it. But you know better about Picasa than I do. How about having more time trying to dig it deeper. Who knows you've been missing something on its setting, preferences, or others?

I have no clue. Sit for a while other on their way helping you.

Try fiddling with Fill, Stretch, Tile, etc in the display. Save the pics in a Windows folder and point the slide show to that folder.

Yes, more fiddling is called for. Here's what I just did: I have several picture editor programs, and have already tried resetting the orientation with Picasa and with Fastone. But, neither seem to hold the correction. I just tried something else, went into windows explorer folder for the pics, had the pics in thumbnail format and used the resident editor, Paint (Right click the pic, select Edit), to re-orientate. For the moment, this seems to be working.
