I fixed the problem. The actual cursor has to be in the 'Cursors' folder. I have also downloaded a cursor set that I like better:

It can be downloaded at:

I would recommmend the RW cursor library, they have millions of different cursors themed around anything you can imagine, from videogame characters to simple reimaginings of aero and standard cursors, you can also get icons for shortcuts.

here's a link:
Open Cursor Library - 63179 cursors

i have an account myself!

also if you want to make your own cursors download the rw cursor editor from the same site

a workaround for this is to put your custom cursors in another "Cursors" folder elsewhere on your computer, mine is on my desktop, it also helps because your custom cursors are not mixed up with the windows ones.

Windows no longer shows cursors in their icons
I installed some program or another that edit cursors. I then uninstalled it, but now when I go into a folder that contains cursors, the icon for the cursor is the standard "file" icon, and not a picture of the cursor. It makes it difficult selecting cursors. How do I fix this?

Has anyone came across any small, compact windows 7 cursors.? I've got some mac cursors I am using now. I got some settings file right click and clicked installed and it did it. However, I loved using linux because of the small cursors etc. I like having one, so does anyone have any?
