    Change Windows Folder Icon

    Hi,

In Windows 7, is it possible to change the Windows folder icon individually? This is possible in XP using a program called IconTweaker, which is unfortunately not compatible with Windows 7, and I have failed to find a Windows 7 equivalent.

    Hi, Shawn,

Unfortunately, that doesn’t work for me. The Windows folder (in the root of the C drive) has no customize tab.

Editing desktop.ini within the Windows folder does not work, either. It is the same in Windows XP, but somehow IconTweaker is able to change the Windows folder icon all the same. I assume that the method IconTweaker uses, whatever it is, would work in Windows 7, also. I wonder what it could be.

There are many programs for changing folder icons in Windows 7, I have used two of them:-

    Shedko Folderico 4 RC12 | Shedko software
    Freeware, downloadable icon packs.

    FolderIco
Paid and Free Versions, less icons in Free Version, no downloadable icons (that i know of ).

    Hope This Helps!
