    Thumbnails not appearing

I just installed Windows 7 Home Premium x86 on a friend's laptop, and the thumbnails we've all grown to love are not appearing. When I hover the mouse over the task bar, a small menu appears, not the thumbnails of the page. Also, when I hover over the show desktop button in the corner, it does not preview the desktop. Is there a theme I am forgetting about? Why didn't I have this problem when I installed it on my desktop?

Oh, BTW, I also installed Win7 on another friend's laptop on Sunday, and the same thing happened.

    Thanks in advance,
    ~Jonathan

Are you certian that you have the correct driver installed for the x 1200. Have you looked in device manager for a conflict? Did you rerun the wei ?

Okay, yes, I made sure the driver is correct and updated, and I discovered the reason Aero's disabled is that the graphics card is not powerful enough.

I have the same issue. How do I check what graphics card I have and if it's powerful enough? Thanks in advance.

Ok, I bought my computer from my college and here is what it said on the website. My laptop should have come with a:

NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M video card w/ 256MB video memory

Will that work for Aero? When I get my WEI number it shows a 1 in graphics. I just bought this laptop this summer so it should be up to standards.

    Welcome to SevenForums, jwnich
You can find out by looking in device manager under display adapter. What is the model number and name of your pc. Like Dell or HP. Alternatly if you fill in your specs someone here may be able to tell you what you have to work with. Good luck with this and I hope you enjoy windows 7 and SF.

    Thanks for the welcome myzr.

    I have a Dell 14" Latitude E6400

I'm going to try to reinstall my drivers tonight and see if that helps.
