Can't pin to taskbar from SD Card

Since I use a netbook, a lot of programs i run are installed to my SDHC card. Windows 7 won't let me pin the shortcuts to the taskbar for any of my programs installed on the SDHC card. Is this a replicatable problem for anyone and is there a fix.

Thanks these forums seem fairly busy so ill be here more than once im sure

Hello Khakiman, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Double check to make sure that you have Recent Programs and Recent Items turned on. Afterwards, see if you can pin the shortcut.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

It may be because it's considered a removable drive, but you might see if you can create a shortcut to say your Start Menu or Desktop for the program on the SDHC card, then see if you can pin that shortcut to the taskbar.

shortcuts on the desktop and start menu work fine, when i try to drag it to the taskbar i get the red circle with line through it. i guess its just a bug.

Are you able to pin programs from your C: drive to the taskbar? If so, then it must be because it's a removable drive then.

yes i think your assumption about the removable drive is right. not sure why its not allowed, however.
