I did notice you may have a stuck pixel though, look above the context menu, that little white dot inside the yellow square:

AFAIK, it is impossible to "see" a stuck pixel in a screenshot. If I have a stuck pixel on my display and I take a snip and send it to you, will you be able to see the stuck pixel? No. That's not possible. It's a physical problem with one of the pixels.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.
You're wrong. Stuck is a physical problem

oldandgrey we won't be able to see the shadows with out a photograph taken with a camera and that image uploaded. Out monitor are fine and the snip is a digital version of your desktop which shows us no shadows.

This is the preferred, best way to upload an image to a post.

You may also upload a photo without using the Snipping tool.
Who's wrong, me? I said exactly what you said!

Nilink, you're wrong it saying a stuck pixel won't show in a screen shot. Obviously it did in this case.

Sorry to act silly but I got a bit confused. Let's say I have a stuck pixel on my display at (x,y) position.

First I take a screenshot using Printscreen key, then I take a photograph of the display using a camera. I send both pics to you.

According to me, the screenshot taken using Printscreen key WILL NOT show the stuck pixel, but the photo taken with a camera WILL show the stuck pixel to you.

Can you clear my doubts please?

    Hi Brink
I've done all that and nothing changed. I agree the shadows are not nearly as bad as when I originally posted so I guess I'll live with it until the next time. It does seem to come and go - normally more come than go and that is when I get frustrated. thanks for help

    That is odd.

Just as a test if you like, create a new account and log in to it to see if you have the same issue with it.

You are correct. A stuck pixel is a physical display problem. It will not be captured on a screenshot. It would be captured on a picture taken of the display. A Guy

Thanks for confirmation. This is what I was trying to say from the beginning. I think I was misinterpreted. :)
