how to show more lines of text on desktop icons?

I would like for my desktop icons to show all lines of text the same as when I click on the icon. I have tried under personalize>window color> advanced appearance settings... changing the vertical and horizontal spacing and font size but the icons are still only showing 2 lines of text.

Would anyone have any ideas as to how this can be accomplished?

    Thanks,
    yeto

Hi yeto and welcome to Seven Forums.

You can make the Icon's a slight bit bigger by holding the "Ctrl" key and scroll with you mouse when on the desktop and just bring it a small bit bigger and it will work for you.

    Hope this helps

As far as I know there is no solution for this issue in Windows 7. Changing the icon size or spacing will not help. However, there's an easy workaround: Create a shortcut to your desktop folder C:\Users\Your_Username\Desktop (default location) and pin it to Taskbar.

Now instead of working on your shortcuts and icons on desktop, click and open the Desktop folder. You will see your icons and shortcuts in Explorer where you can normally select the View settings and see full filenames.
