Dual Monitors, random blacks sections of Desktop

I have a Elitebook docked on a dockingstation with two monitors connected to the docking station via one DVI and one VGA.
Everything works fine, but randomly one of the monitors will either get a completely black desktop screen or partially black. Roughly 75% will be black.
The computer runs fine even when this happens. I can move windows back and forth, over to either desktop while this is happening, but when it occurs on my primary desktop most of my icons disappear so it creates a problem. It is not consistant and does not happen all of the time.
I have tried resetting the Theme and the black still happens. Sometimes I can reconnect the display and it will clear it up until next time it decides to happen.
Has anyone an idea of why this is happening or how to fix it?

Update, I have fixed the issue. Adding a DVI-D-Port Adapter to one of the monitors and using only the VGA output and D-Port output seemed to fix the issue. Using both the DVI output and VGA output seems to have caused it. Hope this helps
