After remote desktop, taskbar stuck in grey color

    Hi there

My topic pretty much says it all, but i'll repeat it anyhow :)

I use my computer regularly while at work, mostly to download torrents etc to be ready for watching when coming home from work. This works flawlessly, but I get a serious thorn in my side whenever I get back home.

For some stupid stupid reason, my taskbar color won't reset back to pitch black like it's supposed to do. This did not happen on my previous installation of win7 (formatted about a year ago). And it did not happen for the first couple of months after reinstalling win7. Same windows 7 (pro x64) etc etc.

To fix this problem, I have to either manually re-run the windows assessment tool in computer properties, or log out my current windows session, only to relog back in again. It's obviously some stuck up file that just doesn't wanna re-initialize.

Does anyone have any idea what this might be caused by? Or have knowledge of any fix? It's driving me nuts.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated :)

Welcome to Seven Forums Sneiper. This happens after remoting into your PC from another PC while at work, correct? Is the whole theme changing from Aero to basic? That usually happens when resources are low. In any case, next time it happens, try restarting Explorer and see if that corrects it.

Explorer - Add "Restart Explorer" to Desktop Context Menu
